You may want to check out the Bulletin Board that's on an easel in our lobby.  Besides updates about what's going on and what's being offered at Dog Gone Place, we are posting various tips about how to make life better for your dog (and, in turn, YOU!)  Information currently being posted is as follows:

1) Many people like to give their dog a brother or sister when as their "firstborn" becomes older.  Because this process can be a bit tricky if you are not used to having two animals at the same time, you may want to read "Introducing a new Dog Into Your Household" article;  2) Just like car insurance, everyone should have homeowner's insurance.  Did you know that owning some dog breeds will raise your premiums?  Find out which ones by reading "Dog Breeds that will Raise your Home Owner's Insurance Rates"; 3) Five fun ways to enjoy your dog (and let him get some exercise) are listed in the article "Five Games That Will Delight Your Dog".  Without going into any detail, they are:  Fetch, Hoops, Swimming, Hula Hoops (do you remember when you were able to keep that baby from falling to the ground?) and Tug-of-War; 4) Find out about the dog that saved his master's life by dialing 911 when the owner was having a seizure; and 5) While you pray for people you may know overseas fighting the war on terror, please don't forget many war dogs that help keep the people fighting on the front safe.  If you read "Faithful Service: A Salute to the Dogs of War", we're sure tears will come to your eyes and you'll, once again, realize how great dogs really are!  Last but not least, 6) Find out what one person's thoughts are on "A Dog's Ten Commandments".  You may find it very interesting.

GIFT CERTIFICATES
... What a GREAT Invention!

All of us have friends, neighbors and / or relatives with dogs, right?  Have any of them done something extraordinarily nice for you lately? Are you tired of thanking them by sending flowers and / or a box of candy?

Wouldn't a Dog Gone Place gift certificate by the PERFECT solution?  We would be happy to customize a certificate for your each and every need.  This could include any amount of:  days for day care (whole and half days), nights for boarding, or a specific dollar amount towards the dog's grooming needs.

Please don't hesitate to ask one of our employees to help  you with this idea ... we'd love to work with you on customizing your gift certificate(s) today!

Also, GIFT BAGS for (but not limited to) our current customers are available for purchase to give to your friends that own a dog.  These can be given for any number of reasons such as birthdays, anniversaries, as a thank you or ... Just Because!  For a mere $10, the bag contains toys and treats for your friend's dog and, for your friend, a coupon for a free day of day care OR free night of boarding at Dog Gone Place.  Giving these bags to your friends also ties into our aforementioned Customer Referral Program.  How?  Well - if your friend redeems the coupon, you are entitled to a free day of day care (valued from $12 to $21).  It's just another way to thank you for sending dogs our way.  After all ... the more you do for US - the more we can do for YOU!

Besides Jo Ann Humphrey (Proprietor) and Deb Giehl (Manager), we have several other people here that help with caring for our dogs:

We are happy to welcome Amber Conover, to our staff.  Amber just recently returned to this country from a temporary stay in South Africa with her boyfriend.  She's worked at a vet clinic there as well as in a pet store in a Georgia mall (yes - she does seem to get around, doesn't she?)  Amber's great with our dogs and very quickly got to know them personally by playing with (a lot) and cleaning up after them!

Mary Lynn Points has been helping us on a part-time basis (on the weekends) for quite some time and we thought it high time we tell you about her!  Mary Lynn loves being around dogs and has had the opportunity to grow up with several.  She has a terrier mix, Willie, that (she says) is spoiled rotten.  But, hey - we don't have a problem with anyone that wants to spoil wonderful dogs!

Rick Duncan has been a dog groomer for about 14 years.  Although he is a bit "burned out" with that line of work, he did not want to discontinue working with dogs.  So ... playing with and cleaning up after all of our dogs is certainly the next best thing!  He has a peek-a-poo, Prissy and three cats and is very happy to be here.

So, you can see that we're ready and able to closely monitor all of our dogs throughout the day as well as give each one some personal love and attention (and doggie treats) throughout the day.

Our Wonderful Staff

Amber is enjoying her time here and can't wait to get to know and play with YOUR dog!

Having been a very close friend with Jo Ann for many years, Mary Lynn, has no problem helping out here whenever it's needed.

Rick really enjoys throwing balls and tugging ropes with our big dogs.  But don't worry - he's wonderful with the little ones too.

Customer Referral Program

We want to remind everyone about our Customer Referral Program that was implemented to help us express our appreciation for our clients' patronage.  We know the best advertisement we could possibly ask for is positive word-of-mouth recommendations from our satisfied customers.  Whether you have used our day care and / or boarding center for one day or for several days / nights, you can now benefit by sending more people and dogs our way!

If a person comes in to sign up for day care and / or would like to board their dog and they mention your name, you will be rewarded with complimentary doggie day care or boarding yourself!  The value of your reward will coincide with the amount of new business we get from them ... because of you!!
